DR. ALBERT HOFMANN, SYNTHESIZER OF LSD, DIES AT 102

Albert Hofmann (January 11, 1906 – April 29, 2008[1][2]) was a Swiss scientist best known for synthesizing Lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD). Hofmann authored more than 100 scientific articles and wrote a number of books, including LSD: My Problem Child. On January 11, 2006, Hofmann became a centenarian, and the occasion of his 100th birthday was the focus of an international symposium on LSD.

First African American Basketball Head Coach Will Robinson Dies

Will Robinson (June 3, 1911 – April 28, 2008) was a former college basketball coach and scout. Robinson became the first African-American head coach in Division I history when he accepted the position at Illinois State University in 1970.

Howard Stern Regular Kenneth Keith Kallenbach Dies

Kenneth Keith Kallenbach appeared several times on the Howard Stern Television Show in the early 1990s, and was famous for his ludicrously unsuccessful attempts to blow smoke out of his eyes, which once resulted in his vomiting on camera. During a "Howard Stern Celebrity Bowling Match" (including participants "Grandpa" Al Lewis, Jessica Hahn, Young MC, Pat Cooper, Marilyn Michaels and Frank Stallone), Kallenbach pulled a cooked chicken out of his pants, rubbed it all over his face, then proceeded to light firecrackers taped to his genitals. Show producer Dan Forman then removed him from the studio.
